We were having a standing water in area next and around the side of our house. During certain downpours it could be up to 4 or 5 inches of standing water. We were worried about our foundation and possible water flooding in. We found Drain My Lawn by researching companies in the area. We were impressed by their reviews and reached out. We appreciated the project diagram to get a good idea about our project. Everyone that showed up to start the project are really great. I contacted Nick when I was having issues with water flooding into my home. I was very impressed with his knowledge and the detailed job he did assessing the issue. His recommended solution ended up being something that required repair by the DOT, but he did not try and push any other solutions on me. It was because of Nick that I was able to finally figure out what needed to be done after many others had offered no help. From the effort put into the estimate months ago, to the work put in on the job today, Drain My Lawn has been communicative, professional, and has done everything they said they would do. Their estimates were itemized in a clear-to-understand way and the costs were what you'd expect for reasonable quality. Typically, all you hope is that whomever you hire does the job you asked for well, but it's always an added benefit when they are also friendly and personable. That defines this team. This ended up being a very cost effective solution to ensure our foundation is protected from a high volume of splashing and pooling water. If you're planning any work on your property, take the time to read this! Before I tell you about our experience with Drain My Lawn, I need to share the story that led us to them. For over 10 years, we've dealt with massive amounts of water flowing onto our property from a neighboring home that sits much higher than ours. The damage was extensive—our backyard was constantly saturated, our garage flooded, moisture seeped through downstairs walls, cracks developed upstairs from shifting, and our garages stayed perpetually damp, causing rust on nearly everything stored inside. Over the years, we explored countless solutions, from pipes between properties to swales and other drainage systems. We received wildly different proposals and prices, leaving us unsure who was being honest or capable of solving the problem. After several disappointing contractor experiences, we eventually gave up. And let's be honest—nobody wants to spend money on drainage issues. As our problems continued, I searched for a company that specialized in drainage and found Drain My Lawn with outstanding reviews. I thought, "Let's try one more time." Nick came out almost immediately and carefully evaluated every issue we discussed. It was clear we had a major problem that required a major solution. I will echo the good reviews that have been posted so far for these guys. I really like the communication and prompt response I received. I submitted a request for appointment/call on Saturday and have already met with them by Monday evening. Nick came to my home and looked at the issue I'm having with mild erosion in my side yard. It's not a major issue but is large enough that I wanted to get a professional opinion on how to fix it. He could have easily sold me on a costly overkill solution but that didn't happen. Instead, Nick explained what was really causing the erosion and identified a few options that would help. We bought a new house and after the very first rain it was clear we had a serious drainage problem which caused several thousand gallons of water to collect in the backyard (and took DAYS to drain), and the water got dangerously close to the crawl space. Nick came out and confirmed the problem, did a thorough assessment, and completed the job while we were on vacation. I was slated to install my driveway with-in two weeks time. However, there was an unforseen problem....Installing the driveway will block the the path of water drainage. There will be a very large holding cell of water that will sit against my house foundation and surround my deck posts and entry unto the deck. Great service! Nick came out and inspected my issue with poor drainage in my front yard near my front steps. He proposed his plan for a drain to me and gave me a very reasonable quote for the work. I agreed to the work and we called the city to have the yard marked to do the work. The city was slow to respond and Nick stepped in and escalated with the city and got that taken care of. As soon as the yard was marked, Nick was here within a few days and completed the job in 3 hours. Everything was done professionally and we have had no drainage issues at all since he did the work. Nick came out to look at my drainage in back yard recently and he was very helpful and professional. Provided a quote promptly with very good detail and clear as to what would be completed. We've decided to hold off on our project for budgetary reasons and go in a different direction at this point - so we cannot judge the quality of actual work, but I would recommend you consider DML for your drainage projects (and they do gutter work too! ). Can't say enough about the folks at Drain My Lawn.. I had them replace two driveaway culverts, install a new one in a second driveway and do some drainage related grading on my property and was very pleased!.. When my son bought his first home recently... We had Drain My Lawn come out and look at a situation caused by the previous owner.. They installed new drainage lines and a catch basin and graded and seeded the area afterwards... Now it looks like they were never there. Had a downpour a day or two after they finished the work and the new drainage system worked flawlessly!!! I really like Nick's business model and how he pours into the staff and give them opportunities to be part of the business. Everyone is very responsive and respectful. When Nick came out to both properties, he not only listened to our concerns, but spent time taking measurements and video of the area. As part of his estimate he provided a short video describing the proposed solution and work to be done.. If you have any drainage related issues you need to call Drain My Lawn.. Nick came out to diagnose my drainage issues, provided great documentation and came back again when we had more questions and potential problem areas before pulling the trigger. When we suggested to rip and replace an additional drain, Nick said while he could, it wouldn’t be cost effective and wouldn’t lead to a better outcome. That kind of honesty is refreshing, appreciated and unfortunately, somewhat rare. Trust trumps everything and Nick is trustworthy in how he runs his business. After placing a small deposit to get scheduled, the team actually started the work a week before they said they could. Nicks team was respectful of my property and expeditious in their work. Any issues were quickly addressed and I was never left waiting for a response. Highly communicative before, during and after the job.
